For it is called a position, and not an 'athfiyah' (tripod).
And 'athathi' may be said, narrated by Ya'qub, who said: the 'tha' is a substitute for the 'fa'.
O dwelling of Hind, it has become desolate except for its tripods between the wells, and its valleys have become dry.
As if, after a new year has come, its tripods are like bathing doves.
(And God struck him with the third of the tripods: meaning, with the mountain) because two rocks are placed beside it, and upon them the pot is set. So its meaning is that God struck him with something he could not withstand.
(And the intent is) God struck him (with a calamity, and that is because if they did not find a third of the tripods, they would lean the pot against the mountain).
It is a piece of the mountain, with two placed beside it, so the piece is connected to the mountain.
And indeed, a scandalous poem from me, when it is present, is like the third of the tripods.
He struck him with all evil, making him like a tripod, until when he was struck with the third, no limit was left for him.
Rather, every people, however honored and noble they may be, their leader is stoned with the tripods of evil.
And he placed the pot on tripods ('aththafa' ta'thifan), and ('aathafaha) 'iathafan, and their place is in 'athaf' and has preceded. He only mentioned them here as a digression.
And he placed it on tripods ('athfaha) and it was made ('uthfiyah) 'mu'athfah', meaning he placed it on the tripods.
The pot was supported ('uthfiyat) 'tathfiyatan', meaning it was placed on the tripods.
And I placed tripods for the pot ('athfaitu al-qadra): meaning, I made tripods for it; and he recited for a poet, who is Khitam al-Majashi'i:
Nothing remains of its adornments but debris and ashes, and cooking pots like those placed on tripods.
He intended 'yuthfina', so he brought it out according to the original form.
He intended 'athfina yuthfina', and when the meter of the poetry forced him, he returned to the original form, because if you say 'af'ala yaf'alu', you know it was originally 'yu'af'ilu'; so the hamza was dropped due to its heaviness;
And our neighbor's pot was not lowered except by us, nor was it supported ('uthfiyat) except by us when it was set up.
And that is a deed for which my pot was not supported ('tathiffa') by it.
It is said: 'Athfiyah khashna' remained of the children of so-and-so, meaning a large number of them remained.

Like a wolf following eagerly nearby.
And likewise, 'aththafahu' 'ya'thifuhu': if he followed him; narrated by Al-Azhari.
And 'tathaffa' fulanan: a bad lineage if it falls short of noble deeds.
Al-mathfah, with kasra: a brand like the tripods.
Al-mathfah: a woman who buried three husbands.
She whose husbands die frequently.
And the man is 'mathfa'; thus it is with kasra, and in Al-Sihah: with damma and shadda;
And 'athfa': he married three women.
Al-mathfah: the woman whose husband has two other wives, likened to the tripods of a pot.
And 'waththafa' al-qawm: he expelled them.
He expelled him ('aththafahu'), so it is as if this is an inversion of it.
And 'Athifiyyah', like 'balhaniyyah': a place in Yamama, with Al-Washm, from it are the Banu Yarbu'.
And Dhu Athifiyyah: a well in the Aqiqq of Medina.
The pot was supported ('uthifat) and it is 'mu'aththafah' and 'mathfah'.
And the woman had co-wives ('wathfiyat): if her husband had two other wives besides her.
And 'al-mathfa': he whose three wives have died.
And 'Athifiyyat': small mountains likened to the tripods of a pot.
And 'al-athafi': small stars resembling the pot's tripods.
And Dhat al-Athafi: a place.
And they are upon it as one tripod ('athfiyah wahidah'): if they unite.
