It has been narrated in the hadith of Qatadah: Humayd ibn Hilal was among the scholars, and al-Tanawah afflicted him.
قال ابن الأثير: هي الفلاحة والزراعة؛ يريد به (ترك المذاكرة وهجران المدارسة)، وكان نزل على طريق قرية الأهواز؛
Ibn al-Athir said: It means farming and agriculture; by it is intended (abandoning discussion and forsaking study), and he had settled on the road to the village of Ahwaz;
حكاها الأصمعي؛ فإما أن تكون على المعاقبة وإما أن تكون لغة.
