أَشَى الكَلَامَ: اختلقه.
To fabricate speech: to invent it.
وأَشِيَ إِلَيْهِ، كَرَضِيَ، أَشْيَا: اضْطُرَّ؛ نَقَلَهُ ابْنُ سِيدَهْ.
And to be compelled, like 'radhiya', 'ashyan': to be forced; narrated by Ibn Sidah.
وأَشَاءُ النَّخْلِ، بِالْفَتْحِ وَالْمَدِّ: صِغَارُهُ، أَوْ عَامَّتُهُ، أَي النَّخْلُ عَامَّةً، وَقَدْ تَقَدَّمَ ذَلِكَ فِي الْهَمْزَةِ؛ الْوَاحِدَةُ أَشَاءَةٌ، وَالْهَمْزَةُ فِيهِ مُنْقَلِبَةٌ عَنِ الْيَاءِ لِأَنَّ تَصْغِيرَهَا الأَشَاءُ أَشِيٌّ؛ هَذَا قَوْلُ الْجَوْهَرِيِّ.
And 'ashaa' of the date palms, with fath and madd: its young ones, or its generality, meaning date palms in general, and this has been previously mentioned under the hamza; the singular is 'ashaa'ah', and the hamza in it is a transformation of ya' because its diminutive is 'al-ashaa' 'ashiyy'; this is the statement of Al-Jauhari.
وَإِشَاءٌ، كَكِتَابٍ: جَبَلٌ؛ قَالَ الرَّاعِي:
And 'ishaa', like 'kitaab': a mountain; Al-Ra'i said:
وَسَاقَ النَّعَاجَ الْخُنْسَ بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَهَا بِرَعْنِ إِشَاءٍ كُلِّ ذِي حَدَرٍ فَهَدُ
And he drove the shy ewes between me and them by the peak of 'ishaa' of every steep slope, so they were startled.
وَوَادِي أَشِي، كَسَمِيٍّ، وَضُبِطَ أَيْضًا كَغَنِيٍّ: ع بِالْمَغْرِبِ، هَكَذَا فِي النُّسَخِ وَهُوَ غَلَطٌ وَالصَّوَابُ وَادٍ بِالْيَمَامَةِ فِيهِ نَخِيلٌ، كَمَا فِي الصِّحَاحِ.
And the valley of 'Ashi', like 'samiyy', and also noted like 'ghaniyy': a river in the Maghreb, this is how it is in the manuscripts and it is an error, and the correct reading is a valley in Yamama with date palms, as in Al-Sihah.
وَقَالَ ياقوت عَنْ أَبِي عُبَيْدٍ السَّكُونِيِّ: مَنْ أَرَادَ الْيَمَامَةَ مِنَ النَّبَّاجِ صَارَ إِلَى الْقَرْيَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ خَرَجَ مِنْهَا إِلَى أَشِي وَهُوَ لِعَدِيِّ الرَّبَابِ؛ وَقِيلَ: لِلْأَحْمَالِ مِنْ بَلَعْدَوِيَّةِ.
And Yaqut said from Abu Ubayd Al-Sikuni: Whoever intends Yamama from Al-Nabbaj, he goes to Al-Qaryatayn, then exits from there to 'Ashi', which belongs to 'Adi Al-Rubab; and it was said: it belongs to Al-Ahmaal from Bal'adawiyyah.
وَقَالَ غَيْرُهُ: هُوَ مَوْضِعٌ بِالْوَشْمِ، وَالْوَشْمُ: وَادٍ بِالْيَمَامَةِ؛ قَالَ زِيَادُ بْنُ مُنْقِذٍ:
And others said: it is a place in Al-Wasm, and Al-Wasm is a valley in Yamama; Ziyad bin Manqidh said:
يَا حَبَّذَا حِينَ تُمْسِي الرِّيحُ بَارِدَةً وَوَادِي أَشِي وَفِتْيَانٌ بِهِ هُضُمُ
Oh, how pleasant it is when the wind becomes cold, and the valley of 'Ashi' and strong young men within it.
وَقَالَ عَبْدَةُ بْنُ الطَّبِيبِ: وَالْحَيُّ يَوْمَ أَشِي إِذْ أَلَمَّ بِهِمْ يَوْمٌ مِنَ الدَّهْرِ إِنَّ الدَّهْرَ مِرَارُ
And Abda bin Al-Tabib said: And the tribe on the day of 'Ashi' when a day of time befell them, indeed time is repeated.
وَوَادِي الأَشَائِنِ: ع؛ وَأَنْشَدَ ابْنُ الْأَعْرَابِيِّ:
And the valley of Al-Ashaa'in: a river; Ibn Al-A'rabi recited:
لِتَجُرَّ الْمَنِيَّةُ بَعْدَ امْرِئٍ بِوَادِي الأَشَائِنِ أَذْيَالَهَا
So that death may drag its train after a man in the valley of Al-Ashaa'in.
وَآشِي، بِالْمَدِّ: ع) ؛ وَهُوَ تَصْحِيفٌ صَوَابُهُ بِالْمُهْمَلَةِ وَقَدْ تَقَدَّمَ.
And 'Aashi', with madd: a river); and it is a misspelling, the correct reading is with the unpointed letters, and it has been previously mentioned.
وَالأَشِي: غُرَّةُ الْفَرَسِ وَالْقَرْحَةُ، كَمَا فِي التَّكْمِلَةِ.
And 'al-ashi': the blaze of a horse and the ulcer, as in Al-Takmilah.
وَأَشَاءَةٌ، كَسَحَابَةٍ: أُمَّةٌ بِحَضْرَمَوْتَ. وَفِي التَّكْمِلَةِ: مِنْ حَضْرَمَوْتَ.
And 'ashaa'ah', like 'sahabah': a nation in Hadramawt. And in Al-Takmilah: from Hadramawt.
وَآشَى الدَّوَاءُ الْعَظْمَ: أَبْرَأَهُ مِنْ كَسْرٍ.
And the medicine healed the bone: it cured it from a fracture.
وَآشَى: أَبُو دَاوُدَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَيُقَالُ: إِيشِي بْنُ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ يَهيس بْنِ قَارِبِ بْنِ يَهوذا بْنِ يَعْقُوبَ عَلَيْهِمُ السَّلَامُ.
And 'Aashi': Abu Dawud, the Prophet, peace be upon him, and it is said: Ishi son of Ubayd son of Yehis son of Qareb son of Yehuda son of Ya'qub, peace be upon them.
اِئْتَشَى الْعَظْمُ: إِذَا بَرَأَ مِنْ كَسْرٍ كَانَ بِهِ، قَالَ الْجَوْهَرِيُّ: هَكَذَا أَقْرَانِيهِ أَبُو سَعِيدٍ فِي الْمُصَنَّفِ قَالَ ابْنُ السِّكِّيتِ: هَذَا قَوْلُ الْأَصْمَعِيِّ، وَرَوَى أَبُو عَمْرٍو وَالْفَرَّاءُ: انْتَشَى الْعَظْمُ، بِيَاءٍ، كَمَا فِي الصِّحَاحِ.
The bone healed: when it recovered from a fracture it had. Al-Jauhari said: Thus Abu Sa'id dictated it to me in the work. Ibn Al-Sikkit said: This is the saying of Al-Asma'i, and Abu Amr and Al-Farra' narrated: 'The bone healed', with ya', as in Al-Sihah.
وَالأَشَاءَةُ: مَوْضِعٌ بِالْيَمَامَةِ، أَوْ بِبَطْنِ الرِّمَّةِ، وَقَدْ تَقَدَّمَ فِي الْهَمْزَةِ
And 'Al-ashaa'ah': a place in Yamama, or in the heart of Al-Rimmah, and it has been previously mentioned under the hamza.
