A man 'alhan', and a woman 'alha', like 'gharthan' and 'gharthaa', meaning severely hungry.
والعاله: الطياشة من النساء.
And 'al-alih': the flighty woman.
والعلهان: الظليم،
And 'al-ulhan': the male ostrich.
والعلهاء: ثوبان يندف فيهما وبر الإبل يلبس، تحت الدرع.

العله: محركة: الشره.
Al-'illah: agitated: greediness.
وأيضا: الحزن.
And also: grief.
والعله: ككتف: الذي يتردد متحيرا، والذي تنازعه نفسه إلى الشيء، وفي التهذيب: إلى الشر، كالعلهان.
And al-'illah: like 'katif': one who hesitates confusedly, and one whose soul is drawn to something; and in Al-Tahdhib: towards evil, like 'al-ulhan'.
رجل علهان علان: فالعلهان: الجازع، والعلان: الجاهل.
A man 'alhan 'allan': for 'al-ulhan' is the distressed one, and 'al-'allan' is the ignorant one.
