Al-Zamakhshari said: It is a (spring) called Juzman, belonging to Banu Zayd al-Musawi from Banu al-Husayn.
أو واد بين ضاحك وضويحك ، وهما جبلان أسفل الفرش؛ هكذا ذكره ابن جني، رحمه الله تعالى.
Or a valley between Dahik and Duwayhik, and they are two mountains below al-Farsh; thus Ibn Jinni mentioned it, may Allah have mercy on him.
وقيل: هو من بلاد خزاعة.
And it was said: it is from the lands of Khaza'ah.
وقال نصر: يين: ناحية من أعراض المدينة على بريد منها، وهي منازل أسلم بن خزاعة؛
And Nasr said: Yayn: a region from the outskirts of Medina, one barid away from it, and it is the dwelling places of Aslam bin Khaza'ah;
أدار سليمى بين يين فمشغر أبيني فما استخبرت إلا لتخبري
She circled Sulayma between Yayn and Mashghar, O my father, and I did not ask for information except to be informed.
أبيني حبتك البارقات بوبلهالنا نسما عن آل سلمى وشعفر
O my father, may the lightning strike you with its rain, we have a breeze from the family of Sulma and Sha'far.
لقد شفيت عيناك إن كنت باكيا على كل مبد من سليم ومحضرو
Your eyes have surely been healed if you were weeping over every beginning from Sulaym and Mahdar.
وقيل: يين اسم بئر بوادي عياثر؟
And it was said: Yayn is the name of a well in the valley of Ayathir?
وما أنت إلا ذكرة بعد ذكرة تحل بيين أو بأكناف شربب
And you are but a remembrance after a remembrance, settling in Yayn or in the vicinity of Sharbab.
وقد جاء ذكره في سيرة ابن هشام في موضعين: الأول: في غزاة بدر ثم على غميس الحمام من مر! يين فأضافه إلى مر.
And its mention came in the Sirah of Ibn Hisham in two places: The first: in the expedition of Badr, then at Ghamis al-Hammam from Marr! Yayn, and he attributed it to Marr.
والثاني: في غزاة بني لحيان فخرج على يين ثم على صخيرات اليمام.
And the second: in the expedition of Banu Lihyan, he went out by Yayn, then by Sukhayrat al-Yamam.
وقيل: يين موضع على ثلاث ليال من الحيرة.
And it was said: Yayn is a place three nights from Al-Hirah.
وبه تعلم ما في كلام المصنف، رحمه الله تعالى من القصور في الضبط والبيان.
And by this you learn what is lacking in the author's words, may Allah have mercy on him, in terms of vocalization and explanation.
