إن خفتم أن يفتنكم الذين كفروا
if you fear that those who disbelieve will try you
على خوف من فرعون وملئهم أن يفتنهم
out of fear of Pharaoh and his people that they would afflict them
ومن يرد الله فتنته
And whoever Allah wills to trial
ذوقوا فتنتكم
taste your torment
ما أنتم عليه بفاتنين
you are not to cause affliction to anyone
وهم لا يفتنون

فبي تفتنون وعني تسألون

واعلموا إنما أموالكم وأولادكم فتنة
And know that your wealth and your children are but a trial
إني أرى الفتن خلال بيوتكم
I see trials coming through your houses.
ونبلوكم بالشر والخير فتنة
And We test you with evil and good as trial
وما يعلمان من أحد حتى يقولا إنما نحن فتنة فلا تكفر
And neither of them would teach anyone except that they would say, 'We are only a trial, so do not disbelieve.'
وإن كادوا ليفتنونك عن الذي أوحينا إليك
and they almost tempted you away from what We had revealed to you
فتنتم أنفسكم
you have put yourselves on trial
المؤمن خلق مفتنا
The believer is created to be tested.
