Then Al-Ustun, thus it is in the rest of the sources with a fatha, like 'ahmar' in language and poetry, and it is the known one, and it was corrected in the handwriting of Abu Zakariya: Al-Istun, like 'zubruj'.

أو الأستن: شجر يفشو في منابته ويكثر

Or Al-Ustun: a tree that spreads and is abundant in its place of growth.

فإذا نظر الناظر إليه من بعد شبهه بشخوص الناس

And when an observer looks at it from afar, he likens it to the figures of people.

And Ibn Al-A'rabi said: 'Astana' the man: he entered into the year.

And it is a transposition of 'asnata', and both are heard.

والأستان، بالضم، مثل الرشتان، قاله العسكري، وهي أربع كور ببغداد بالجانب الغربي من السواد، عال تشتمل على أربعة طساسبج

وأبو الحسن علي بن الأسعد بن رمضان الأستاني المقريء الخياط، عن أبي الفتح بن عبد الباقي بن أحمد بن سليمان، توفي سنة 602.

And Abu Al-Hasan Ali bin Al-As'ad bin Ramadan Al-Astani the reciter and tailor, from Abu Al-Fath bin Abd Al-Baqi bin Ahmad bin Sulayman, died in the year 602.
