ولا أعرف هذا إنما معناه عندي المحتتن، أي المستوي، ثم حذف تاء مفتعل فبقي المحتن، ثم أشبع الفتحة فقال: المحتان
And I do not know this; its meaning to me is Al-Muhtattan, meaning level, then the 'ta' of 'muf'tal' was deleted, leaving Al-Muhtan, then the fatHa was lengthened, so it became Al-Muhtan.
فلان سن فلان وتنه وحتنه، إذا كان لدته على سنه

وجىء به من حتنك أي من حيث كان
And he was brought from 'hatanak', meaning from where he was.
