As for Ibn Sidah, he rejected it and said: It is only 'Wabasan' like 'Sha'ban', and 'Wabasan', like 'Shu'ran'; and he said: This is the correct form.

قال أبو إسحاق: وسمي بذلك لوبيص السلاح فيه، أي بريقه.

Abu Ishaq said: It was named that because of the gleam of weapons in it, meaning their shine.

قلت: ومر للمصنف في وبص: ووبصان، ويضم، شهر ربيع الآخر.
