I say: And it is narrated with the fath of the jim also, as transmitted by Yaqut, and it is also said: Najarm, narrated by Ibn al-Ashraf thus, and Yaqut also transmitted it.
وقال ياقوت: نجيرم: بليدة مشهورة دون سيراف مما يلي البصرة، على جبل هناك على ساحل البحر، رأيتها مرارا، ليست بالكبيرة، ولا بها آثار تدل على أنها كانت كبيرة اولا،
And Yaqut said: Najiram is a famous small town south of Siraf, coming from Basra, on a mountain there on the coast of the sea. I saw it several times. It is not large, nor does it have traces indicating it was large before.
فإن كان بالبصرة محلة يقال لها: نجيرم فهم ناقلة هذا الاسم إليها، وليس مثلها ما ينقل منها قوم يصير لهم محلة،
If there was a district in Basra called Najiram, then they are the ones who transferred this name to it, and it is not like those from whom people move to establish a district for themselves.
وقد (خرج منها علماء) محدثون، وأهل الأدب،
And indeed (scholars emerged from it), hadith narrators, and men of literature.
منهم: أبو يعقوب يوسف بن يعقوب السعتري النجيرمي عن أبي مسلم اللجي، وعنه أبو الحسن محمد ابن علي بن صخر الأزدي البصري.
Among them: Abu Ya'qub Yusuf ibn Ya'qub al-Sa'tari al-Najirami from Abu Muslim al-Lajji, and from him Abu al-Hasan Muhammad ibn Ali ibn Sakhr al-Azdi al-Basri.
ومنها أيضا إبراهيم بن عبد الله النجيرمي الكاتب، مؤلف كتاب أيمان العرب، وهو عندي بخط قديم.
