This is that it is derived from 'al-shaja'ah' (bravery). I say: And this is the opinion of Ibn 'Asfur and Abu Hayyan, and Al-Jawhari went with it, and our Sheikh leaned towards it and corrected it, saying: because it is from 'al-shaja'ah'.

قال: ولذا أكد به الشجاع في قول الراجز: ( ... والشجاع الشجعما ... ) فتأمل

He said: And for this reason, 'al-shujaa'' (the brave) was intensified by it in the saying of the rajaz poet: (...and the brave one, the very brave one...), so ponder.

والأول قول سيبويه، وإليه مال المصنف، فذكره هنا
