And it is narrated: 'son of a persistent rider' as will come later.

ويروى أني ابن قاتل زهدم "، وهو رجل من عبس، وقد مر ذلك مشروحا في " ي س ر " وفي " ي أس ".

And it is narrated 'that I am the son of Zahdam the killer', and he is a man from 'Abs, and that has passed explained in 'yusr' and in 'ya's'.

Al-Jawhari said: And they are the ones who encountered Hajib ibn Zurarah on the day of Jabalah to capture him, but Malik Dhu al-Ruqaybah al-Qushayri overcame them regarding him.

جزاني الزهدمان جزاء سوء ... وكنت المرء يجزى بالكرامه

The two Zahdamans rewarded me with an evil reward... And I was a man who was rewarded with honor.

وزهدم بن مضرب الجرمي: تابعي ثقة، روى عن أبي موسى وعمران، وعنه قتادة ومطر الوراق، قاله الذهبي في الكاشف.

And Zahdam ibn Mudarrab al-Jarmi: a reliable Tabi'i, narrated from Abu Musa and Imran, and Qatada and Matar al-Warraq narrated from him, said Al-Dhahabi in Al-Kashif.

وذكره ابن حبان في الثقات. وقال: بصري روى عن ابن عباس وعمران، وعنه أبو قتادة وأبو حمزة.

And Ibn Hibban mentioned him in Al-Thiqat. And he said: A Basran who narrated from Ibn Abbas and Imran, and Abu Qatada and Abu Hamza narrated from him.

وذكر أيضا في التابعين زهدم بن الحارث الغفاري، عن ابن عمر، عداده في أهل البصرة، روى عنه ابنه يحيى ابن زهدم.

And he also mentioned among the Tabi'in Zahdam ibn al-Harith al-Ghafari, from Ibn Umar, counted among the people of Basra, his son Yahya ibn Zahdam narrated from him.
