And Dawmah: a suburb between its (the land's) depression, and the name of its fortress is Mard.

It was named so because its fortress is built with Jandal (stones).
لقد أجري لمصرعه تليد ... وساقته المنية من أداما
Indeed, a long-standing (fate) was decreed for his death... and death drove him from Adama.
يكون أفعل من دام يدوم، فلا يصرف كما لا يصرف أخزم وأحمر، وأصله على هذا أدوم
It could be 'af'al' from 'dama yadūmu', so it is not inflected like Akhzam and Ahmar, and its origin on this basis is 'adūm'.

كان في الأصل مدومة، وهو موضع الدوم سمي به لذلك، وهو نادر
It was originally 'madūmah', which is the place of the Sidr trees, named after it, and this is rare.
فهن يعلكن حدائداتها ... كالطير تبقي متدوماتها
So they chew their iron (bits)... like birds keeping their circling (movements).

Knights and warriors like the continuous rain... do not delay out of fear of wounds.

فتن ديم أي: تملأ الأرض مع دوام
Dīm (plural of dīmah) tribulations, meaning: they fill the earth with continuity.

And Al-Hafiz Al-Dimi is the rain of the clouds, so take... scoops from the sea or sips from the continuous rain.
استدام الرجل إذا طأطأ رأسه يقطر منه الدم
