يَقُولُ الْقَانِصُ إِذَا لَمْ يَصِدْ وَرَجَعَ خَائِبًا: مَا جَشَمْتُ الْيَوْمَ ظِلْفًا
The hunter says when he does not hunt and returns empty-handed: I did not eat any hoof today.
وَقَالَ ابْنُ الْأَعْرَابِيِّ: الْجُشْمُ، بِضَمَّتَيْنِ: الطِّوَالُ الْأَعْفَارُ
And Ibn al-A'rabi said: Al-jushm, with two dammahs: the tall, dark ones.
وَقَالَ أَبُو عَمْرٍو: الْجُشْمُ: الْهَلَاكُ
And Abu Amr said: Al-jushm: destruction.
وَبَنُو جُشَمٍ: حَيٌّ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ، وَهُوَ جُشَمُ بْنُ الْخَزْرَجِ
And Banu Jushm: a tribe from the Ansar, and it is Jushm bin Al-Khazraj.
