Mika'il was neglected by Al-Jauhari and Al-Saghani. Ya'qub said: it and Mika'in, with the kasra as a substitute, are the name of a well-known angel, entrusted with sustenance.

وبهذا الوزن من غير همز بياءين عن الأعمش

And with this form, without hamza, with two ya's, according to Al-A'mash.

وقرأ: ميكئل على وزن ميكعل ابن هرمز الأعرج وابن محيصن

And he recited: Mika'al, on the pattern of Mik'al, by Ibn Hurmuz Al-A'raj and Ibn Muhaysin.

فأما جبراييل وميكاييل بياءين بعد الألف والمد فيقوى في نفسي أنها همزة مخففة، وهي مكسورة، فخفيت وقربت من الياء فعبر القراء عنها بالياء كما قالوا في قوله سبحانه: آلاء عند تخفيف الهمزة آلاي بالياء

As for Jibra'il and Mika'il with two ya's after the alif and madd, it is strengthened in my mind that it is a lightened hamza, and it is kasra, so it became hidden and close to a ya', so the reciters expressed it with a ya', as they said in His exalted saying: 'ala' when the hamza is lightened, 'ala'i with a ya'.

وقد يقال: إن كانت الكلمة سريانية فمحل ذكرها آخر هذا الحرف، كما فعله صاحب اللسان وغيره، فإن الحروف كلها أصلية

It may also be said: if the word is Syriac, then its place of mention is at the end of this letter, as the author of Al-Lisan and others did, for all the letters are original.

وإن كانت مركبة من ميكا وإيل كتركيب جبرائيل وغيرهما من أسماء الملائكة فالأنسب حينئذ ذكرها في ميك كما فعله المصنف في جبرائيل فإنه ذكره في جبر، وتركيب ميك ساقط عند المصنف وغيره، فاعرف ذلك

ومما يستدرك عليه: ميكال بن عبد الواحد بن حرمك بن القاسم بن بكر بن ديواشتي، وهو: شور الملك بن شور بن شور بن شور، أربعة من الملوك الذين ذكرهم المصنف في حرف الراء

And among what is to be added: Mikal son of 'Abd al-Wahid son of Hurmak son of Al-Qasim son of Bakr son of Diwashti, who was: Shur the King son of Shur son of Shur son of Shur, four of the kings whom the author mentioned in the letter Ra'.

وهو ابن فيروز بن يزدجرد بن بهرام، وهو جد أهل البيت الميكالي بنيسابور، وهم أمراء فضلاء

And he is the son of Firuz son of Yazdjard son of Bahram, and he is the ancestor of the Al-Mikali family in Nishapur, and they are virtuous princes.

ومنهم أبو العباس إسماعيل بن عبد الله بن محمد بن ميكال الأديب شيخ خراسان ووجهها

Among them is Abu Al-'Abbas Isma'il son of 'Abd Allah son of Muhammad son of Mikal, the man of letters, the chief of Khurasan and its prominent figure.

سمع بنيسابور محمد بن إسحاق بن خزيمة، والعباس بن السراج، وبالأهواز عبدان الحافظ، وعنه أبو علي النيسابوري، والحاكم أبو عبد الله وهو الذي أدبه أبو بكر بن دريد

He heard in Nishapur Muhammad son of Ishaq son of Khuzaymah, and Al-'Abbas son of Al-Siraj, and in Ahwaz 'Abdan the preserver. And from him Abu 'Ali Al-Naysaburi, and Al-Hakim Abu 'Abd Allah, and he is the one whom Abu Bakr son of Durayd educated.

وميكائيل الخراساني: تابعي روى عن عمر رضي الله تعالى عنه

And Mika'il Al-Khurasani: a Successor who narrated from 'Umar, may God be pleased with him.
