وانطلق مكللا: ذهب لا يبالي بما وراءه.

وجفنة مكللة بالسديف، وجفان مكللات، وهو مجاز.

And a 'mukallalah' platter with mother-of-pearl, and 'mukallalat' platters, and this is metaphorical.

فقلنا لهم: كلا، فقلنا لهم: بلى

And we said to them: 'Kalla', and we said to them: 'Bala'

فكلا هنا بمعنى لا بدليل قوله: فقلنا لهم: بلى، وبلى لا تأتي إلا بعد نفي

So 'kalla' here means 'no', evidenced by his saying: 'And we said to them: Bala', and 'Bala' only comes after negation

وعلى هذا يحمل قوله تعالى: ربي أهانن، كلا.

And on this basis is interpreted His saying, the Almighty: 'My Lord has humiliated me', 'Kalla'.

ردع في الكلام، وتنبيه، ومعناه: انته، لا تفعل، إلا أنها آكد في النفي والردع من: لا، لزيادة الكاف

A rejection in speech, and an alert, and its meaning is: Stop, do not do it, except that it is more emphatic in negation and rejection than 'la', due to the addition of the kaf

وقد ترد بمعنى حقا كقوله تعالى: كلا لئن لم ينته لنسفعن بالناصية

And it may be used to mean 'truly' as in His saying, the Almighty: 'Kalla, if he does not desist, We will surely seize by the forelock'
