And a loose-hanging cloud: relaxed, and its fringe trailing down.
وَالسَّوْلُ، وَالسُّؤْلَةُ بِالضَّمِّ المَسْأَلَةُ
And 'al-sawl', and 'al-su'lah' (with dammah) is the request.
قَدْ أُوتِيتَ سُؤَالَكَ يَا مُوسَى
You have been given what you have asked for, O Moses.
فَلَمْ يَهْمِزْهُ: (اخْتَرْتُكَ النَّاسَ إِذْ رَثَّتْ خَلَائِقُهُمْ ... وَاعْتَلَّ مِنْ كَانَ يُرْجَى عِنْدَهُ السَّوْلُ)
And he did not hamz it: (I chose you among people when their characters became worn out... and he who was hoped for to fulfill desires was incapacitated).

And some literary scholars said: Hudhayl asked the Messenger of God for something shameful, meaning: they requested 'sawl' from him.
