It is said: he walks al-khawtala, like khuzala, which is a walk with stealth.
ومنهم يقال: هو يخلجني بعينه ويمشي لي الخوتلى.
And from them it is said: he distracts me with his eye and walks stealthily for me.
وختلان كسحبان: د وراء بلخ، كما في لب اللباب، وفي العباب: قرب سمرقند.
And Khitlan (like sahban): a place behind Balkh, as in Labb al-Lubab, and in Al-Abab: near Samarkand.
وهو ختلي على غير قياس، كما في العباب، أي لأن القياس ختلاني.

والمختل، بالكسر: كل موضع يختتل فيه، مثل الكن.
