Al-hakal in a horse: looseness of its hindquarters, and weakness in its fetlocks, as in Al-Muhkam, except that it is vocalized: Al-hakal, with haraka.
الحكلة بهاء: العجمة في الكلام يقال: في لسانه حكلة: أي عجمة لا يبين بها الكلام.

And the news became unclear to me: it was confusing.
وكذلك احتكل: إذا التبس واشتبه كأحكل، قاله الزجاج، وكذلك: عكل وأعكل.
And likewise ihtakala: when it became confused and ambiguous, like ahkala, said Al-Zajjaj, and likewise: 'akala and a'kala.
قال ابن عباد: حكل الرمح حكلا: أقامه على إحدى رجليه.
Ibn Abbad said: Hakala the spear, haklan: to set it up on one of its legs.
حكل بالعصا حكلا: ضرب هذلية، قال بعض هذيل: لئن أظفرني الله بك لأحكلنك بالعصا حكلا: أي لأضربنك بها.
Hakala with a stick, haklan: a strike by Hudhayl. Some of Hudhayl said: If God grants me victory over you, I will hakala you with a stick, haklan: meaning, I will strike you with it.
والحوكلة بهاء: ضرب من المشي عن ابن عباد.

واحتكل عليه الأمر: اشتكل والتبس واشتبه.
And the matter became confusing to him: it was confusing, ambiguous, and unclear.
احتكل: تعلم العجمية بعد العربية قاله الفراء.
