Then what is in the manuscript copies of the book is thus: 'Ahan, and this is a mistake. The correct reading is: Ha'an, and the author mentioned it correctly in 'Huwa'.
وقال الذهبي في الكاشف: جعثل بن هاعان أبو سعيد الرعيني القتباني، عن أبي تميم الجيشاني، وعنه بكر بن سوادة، وعبيد الله بن زحر، ثقة.
Al-Dhahabi said in Al-Kashif: Ja'thal bin Ha'an Abu Sa'id Al-Ru'ayni Al-Qatbani, narrated from Abu Tameem Al-Jayshani, and narrated from him Bakr bin Suwadah and 'Ubaydullah bin Zahr, he is trustworthy.
الجَعْثَل، كجعفر: العظيم البطن، وهو مقلوب العثجل، ومنه حديث ابن عباس، رضي الله عنهما: ستة لا يدخلون الجنة، فذكر الجواظ والجعثل، فقيل له: ما الجعثل قال: الفظ الغليظ.
Al-Ja'thal, like Ja'far: the large-bellied. It is an inversion of Al-'Athjal. And from it is the hadith of Ibn 'Abbas, may Allah be pleased with them both: Six will not enter Paradise, and he mentioned Al-Jawazh and Al-Ja'thal. So he was asked: What is Al-Ja'thal? He said: The rude, the coarse.
