وقال شمر: الإصطفلينة كالجزرة، وليست بعربية محضة لأن الصاد والطاء لا تكادان تجتمعان في محض كلامهم

And Shamir said: Al-Isṭiflinah is like a carrot, and it is not purely Arabic because the sad and ta rarely come together in their pure speech.

وإنما جاء في الصراط والإصطبل والأصطمة وأن أصولها كلها السين

It only came in al-ṣirāṭ, al-isṭabl, and al-isṭamah, and their origins are all sin.
