Sibawayh said: It is treated like 'halaka' because it is something that afflicts their minds.

And the latter is according to analogy, like 'ahwaj' and 'hawj'.

The poet said: An old woman laughs at me, a laughing one.

And she became foolish, and youth has foolishness.
قلت لقوم خرجوا هذا ليل نوكى ولا ينفع في النوكى القيل
I said to a group who went out: This is a night of fools, and talk is of no use among fools.
احتذروا لا يلقكم طماليل قليلة أموالهم عزازيل
Beware, lest you encounter the wretched, whose wealth is little, the stubborn ones.
وامرأة نوكاء من نسوة نوك أيضا على القياس.
And a foolish woman from among foolish women, also by analogy.
وأنوكه: صادفه أنوك.
And 'anwukahu' means to find him foolish.
ويقال: ما أنوكه، أي: ما أحمقه

And Sibawayh said: The exclamation of wonder occurs with 'ma af'alahu' even if it is like a natural disposition, because it is not in the body nor a physical creation, but rather from a deficiency of intellect.
الأنوك: العاجز الجاهل، وأيضا العمي في كلامه عن الأصمعي
Al-anook: The helpless ignorant one, and also one who is nonsensical in his speech, according to Al-Asma'i.
فكن أنوك النوكى إذا ما لقيتهم
So be the most foolish of the foolish when you meet them.
وقال غيره: النوك عند العرب: العجز والجهل.
And others said: Al-nawka among the Arabs means helplessness and ignorance.
واستنوك فلانا: استحمقه.
And 'istanawka fulanan' means to make someone foolish.
