وقال أبو عبيدة: ابتشك الكلام ابتشاكا: كذب، ومثله قول أبي زيد: يقال: هو يبشك الكلام أي يخلقه.
Abu Ubaidah said: 'ibtashaka al-kalam ibtishakan': he lied. Similar is the saying of Abu Zayd: it is said: 'he bashaka al-kalam', meaning he fabricates it.
والابتشاك: الكذب، ولم أسمع فيه شعرا قديما ولا محدثا سوى هذا محل تأمل لا يخفى.
And al-ibtishak: lying. I have not heard any old or new poetry about it except this, which is a matter for contemplation, not hidden.
والبشك: القطع يقال: بشك العرق، إذا قطعه، عن ابن عباد.
And al-bashk: cutting. It is said: 'bashaka al-'irq', if it cuts it, from Ibn Abbad.
وقال الفراء: البشك: حل العقال كالبكش.
Al-Farra' said: Al-bashk: loosening the tether, like al-baksh.
وقال ابن الأعرابي: البشك: الخلط في كل شيء رديء وجيد.
Ibn Al-A'rabi said: Al-bashk: mixing in everything, bad and good.
والبشك: السوق السريع يقال: بشك الإبل بشكا: إذا ساقها سوقا سريعا.
And al-bashk: rapid driving. It is said: 'bashaka al-ibil bashakan': if he drove them with a rapid drive.
وقال أبو زيد: البشك: السرعة وخفة نقل القوائم، ويحرك، والفعل كنصر وضرب يقال: بشك يبشك ويبشك بشكا وبشكا.
Abu Zayd said: Al-bashk: speed and lightness of limb movement. And it is vocalized, and the verb is like 'nasara' and 'daraba'. It is said: 'bashaka yabshuku wa yabshiku bashakan wa bashakan'.
والبشك: أن يرفع الفرس في حضره حوافره من الأرض ولا تنبسط يداه.
And al-bashk: a horse raising its hooves from the ground in its trot without extending its forelegs.
ويقال: امرأة بشكى اليدين و بشكى العمل، كجمزى: أي خفيفة سريعة عمول اليدين.
And it is said: a woman 'bashkat al-yadayn' and 'bashkat al-'amal', like 'jamza': meaning quick and fast-handed.
وناقة بشكى: سريعة، وقال ابن الأعرابي: هي التي تسيء المشي بعد الاستقامة، وقيل: ناقة بشكى: خفيفة الروح والمشي، وقد بشكت تبشك بشكا: أسرعت.
And a camel 'bashka': fast. Ibn Al-A'rabi said: it is one that walks poorly after having walked straight. And it is said: a camel 'bashka': light-spirited and quick in walking. And she 'bashakat tabshuku bashakan': she sped.
والبشكاني، بالضم: الأحمق الذي لا يعرف العربية، عن ابن عباد.
And al-bashkani, with damma: the fool who does not know Arabic, from Ibn Abbad.

I say: The genealogists have vocalized it with a kasra of the 'ba', and they said it is a village from the villages of Herat. And thus mentioned by the two Hafizes Al-Dhahabi and Ibn Hajar. And in the genealogies of Al-Bilbaisi, among them is Judge Abu Sa'd Muhammad bin Nasr bin Mansur Al-Harawi, a traditionist and jurist, who connected with the Caliphate's court, traveled as an envoy to the kings of the regions, held the judiciary of the kingdoms, and was killed in the جامع of Hamadan in Sha'ban of the year [date missing]. So ponder.
وابتشك سلكه: أي انقطع عن ابن دريد.
And 'ibtashaka sulkuhu': meaning it broke, from Ibn Duraid.
قال: وابتشك عرضه: إذا وقع فيه.
He said: and 'ibtashaka 'irduhu': if it was attacked or slandered.
البشاك: الكذاب، نقله الجوهري.
