And in the hadith of praying for the Prophet, peace be upon him: 'and bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad', meaning: 'Establish for him and perpetuate for him what You have given him of honor and dignity.'

And Ibn Al-Anbārī said: Tabāraka Allah, meaning: His name is sought for blessing in every matter.

وقال الجوهري: تبارك الله، أي: بارك مثل قاتل وتقاتل، إلا أن فاعل يتعدى، وتفاعل لا يتعدى

And Al-Jawharī said: Tabāraka Allah, meaning: 'Bāraka', like 'qātala' and 'taqātala', except that 'fā'ala' is transitive, and 'tafā'ala' is intransitive.

والبركة: مثل الحوض يحفر في الأرض ولا يجعل له أعضاد فوق صعيد الأرض كالبرك بالكسر، أيضا وهذه عن الليث

And Al-birka: is like a cistern dug in the ground, with no supports above the ground, like Al-birak (with kasra), also this is from Al-Layth.

وقال ابن الأعرابي: البركة تطفح مثل الزلف، والزلف: وجه المرآة

And Ibn Al-A'rābī said: Al-barakah overflows like Az-zulaf, and Az-zulaf is the face of a mirror.

ورأيت العرب يسمون الصهاريج التي سويت بالآجر وضرجت بالنورة في طريق مكة ومناهلها بركا، واحدتها بركة

And I saw the Arabs call the cisterns that were built with bricks and plastered with lime on the road to Mecca and its watering places 'birak', the singular of which is 'birka'.

وابتركت السحابة: إذا اشتد انهلالها، وسحاب مبترك، وهو المعتمد الذي يقشر وجه الأرض

And the cloud mutabrikah: if its downpour intensified, and a mutabrik cloud, which is the one that scrapes the face of the earth.

ينفي الحصى عن جديد الأرض مبتركا ... كأنه فاحص أو لاعب داحي

It sweeps pebbles from the fresh earth, mutabrikā ... as if it were a tester or a player of dice.

وابترك السحاب: ألح بالمطر

And the clouds mutabrik: they persisted with rain.

وابتركت السماء: دام مطرها، كبركت وأبركت

And the sky mutabrikah: its rain continued, like barakat and abrakat.

وابترك الرجل في عرضه، وكذا ابترك عليه إذا تنقصه وشتمه واجتهد في ذمه

And a man mutabrik in his honor, and likewise mutabrik against him when he belittles him, insults him, and strives to condemn him.

والبروك كصبور: امرأة تزوج ولها ابن كبير بالغ

And Al-burūk (like ṣabūr): a woman who is married and has a grown adult son.

هل لك في البروك فأجابته: إن البروك عمل الملوك

Do you want Al-burūk? And she answered him: Indeed, Al-burūk is the work of kings.

والاسم منه البريكة كسفينة، وعمله البروك، وليس هو الربوك، وأول من عمل الخبيص عثمان رضي الله تعالى عنه

And Al-burkān (with kasra): a sandy tree grazed by wild cows, its leaves are like myrtle leaves, and so is Al-'ilqī, said Abu Ubaydah.

بحيث التقى البركان والحاذ والغضى ... ببيشة وارفضت تلاعا صدورها

Where Al-burkān, Al-ḥādh, and Al-ghaḍā met ... in Bayṣah, and their springs gushed forth.

حتى غدا خرصا طلا فرائصه ... يرعى شقائق من علقى وبركان
