هذا الأمر لا يليق بك أي: لا يعلق ولا يلبق بك

والليق، بالكسر: شيء أسود يجعل في الكحل

وألاقه بنفسه أي: ألزقه
And he made it stick to himself, meaning: he attached it.

Is there anything in your hands that fits?
كفاك كف لا تليق درهما جودا وأخرى تعط بالسيف الدما
Your two hands are one hand that does not hold a dirham with generosity, and another that gives blood with the sword.
والتاق به: إذا صافاه حتى كأنه لزق به
And he was sincere with him: if he was on good terms with him until it was as if he stuck to him.
التاق له: لزمه
He stuck to him: he adhered to him.
الالتياق: لزوم الشيء للشيء
Al-iltiyāq: adhering to something.
التاق فلان أي: استغنى
So-and-so became self-sufficient, meaning: he became rich.
أنا ملتاق بكذا
I am self-sufficient with such-and-such.
اللياق بالكسر: شعلة النار
Al-liyāq with kasr: a torch of fire.
اللياق بالفتح: الثبات في الأمر
Al-liyāq with fath: steadfastness in a matter.
ليس لفلان لياق
So-and-so has no steadfastness.
ما بالأرض علاق ولا لياق، أي: مرتع يؤكل
There are no grazing animals nor pastures on the land, meaning: a place to eat.
ما عاقت ولا لاقت، أي: ما لصقت بقلبه
She did not hinder nor stick, meaning: she did not adhere to his heart.
وما لاق ذلك بصفري: لم يوافقني
And that did not suit my stomach: it did not agree with me.
ما يليق ذلك بصفري، أي: ما يثبت في جوفي
That does not suit my stomach, meaning: it does not remain in my belly.
ما يليق هذا الأمر بفلان، أي: ليس أهلا أن ينسب إليه
