وغسق الجرح غسقا وغسقانا: سال منه ماء أصفر.
And the wound flowed ghusqan and ghusqānan: yellowish water flowed from it.
أبكي لفقدهم بعين ثرة ... تجري مساربها بعين غاسق

Aghsaqa, according to Tha'lab, al-Zamakhshari said: it is a dialect of Banu Tamim, and similarly: dajā al-layl, and adjā, meaning: it poured down and its darkness intensified.

Indeed, this night has become dark... and I complained of worry and sleeplessness.

That Aisha, may God be pleased with her, said: The Messenger of God, peace be upon him, took my hand when the moon appeared and looked at it, and said: This is al-ghāsiq when it enters, so seek refuge in God from its evil, meaning: when it is eclipsed.
أو معناه الثريا إذا سقطت، روى ذلك، عن أبي هريرة رضي الله عنه مرفوعا، لكثرة الطواعين والأسقام عند سقوطها وارتفاعها عند طلوعها، لما ورد في الحديث: إذا طلع النجم ارتفعت العاهات.
Or its meaning is the Pleiades when it sets, this is narrated from Abu Hurayrah, may God be pleased with him, as a marfū' hadith, due to the abundance of plagues and illnesses when it sets and their rise when it rises, as mentioned in the hadith: When the star rises, ailments are lifted.
