Tha'lab said: meaning the way of disbelief, We would have opened to them the door of delusion.
وقال الفراء: أي لزدنا في أموالهم فتنة عليهم وبلية
And Al-Farra' said: meaning We would have increased their wealth as a trial and affliction for them.
ودليل هذا قوله تعالى: "ولو أن أهل القرى آمنوا واتقوا لفتحنا عليهم بركات من السماء"
And the proof of this is His saying, the Almighty: "And if the people of the cities had believed and feared Allah, We would have opened to them blessings from the heaven."
وغدقت العين، كفرح: غزرت وعذبت، فهي غدقة
And the eye flowed abundantly, as in 'faraha': it was copious and sweet, so it is 'ghadaqah'.
وبئر غدق، محركة مضافة معروفة بالمدينة، على ساكنها أفضل الصلاة والسلام، وعندها أطم البلويين الذي يقال له القاع
And a well, ghadaq, with vowel movement, added, known in Medina, upon its inhabitant be the best of prayers and peace, and near it is the fortress of the Balwiyyin which is called Al-Qaa'.

And a tender youth, and likewise tender youth, and tender youths, and tender youths, meaning: soft and delicate.

وقيل: الغيداق من الغلمان: الذي لم يبلغ
And it was said: 'Al-ghaydaq' among youths is one who has not yet reached puberty.
والغيداق: الرجل الكريم نقله الجوهري، الجواد الواسع الخلق الكثير العطية، وبه سمي أحد عمومته صلى الله عليه وسلم غيداقا لكثرة عطائه
And 'Al-ghaydaq': the noble man, transmitted by Al-Jauhari, the generous, open-handed, abundant in giving, and by this one of his uncles (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) was named Ghaydaq for his abundant giving.
قال أبو زيد: أول حسل، ثم غيداق، ثم مطبخ، ثم يكون ضبا مدركا
Abu Zayd said: first 'hasal', then 'ghaydaq', then 'matbakh', then it becomes a mature desert lizard.
والغياديق: الحيات. كما في اللسان والعباب
And 'Al-ghayadeeq': snakes. As in Al-Lisan and Al-Ubab.

The rain poured down abundantly, and it is pouring.
واغدودق: كثر قطره
And 'aghdawdaqa': its dripping was abundant.
ومطر مغدودق، وماء مغدودق: كثير
And abundant rain, and abundant water: plentiful.
اللهم اسقنا غدقا مغدقا، أكده به
O Allah, give us abundant, pouring rain, he emphasized it with it.
وغيدق الرجل: كثر بزاقه كذا نص المحيط. وفي اللسان: لعابه، وهو مجاز
And 'ghaydaqa' the man: his saliva was abundant, thus stated Al-Muheet. And in Al-Lisan: his saliva, and it is metaphorical.
وأرض غدقة: في غاية الري، وهي الندية المبتلة الريا الكثيرة الماء
And a well-watered land: extremely watered, moist, saturated, and abundant with water.
وعشب غدق بين الغدق: ريان مبتل رواه أبو حنيفة، وعزاه الى النضر
And abundant grass between the abundance: lush and moist, narrated by Abu Hanifa, and attributed to Al-Nadr.
وغدقت الأرض غدقا وأغدقت: أخصبت
And the land became abundant with water, 'ghadaqan', and 'aghdaqat': it became fertile.
