And a camel sanqah, its apparent context suggests it is like farhah, but it is not so, rather it is with harakah, as in Al-Abab, meaning large and big, and so it is in the text of Al-Nawadir, as are sanikhah, qabsaah, and qabsah.
والصنقة، محركة، من الحرة: ما غلظ منها وكذلك الصمقة، والصمغة.
And al-sanqah, with harakah, from the harrah: is what is thick of it, and likewise al-samqah, and al-samghah.
والصنقة: المحسنون خدمة الإبل يقال: هذه إبل صنقتها الصنقة، أي: أحسنوا القيام عليها، قاله ابن عباد، وكأنه جمع صانق، كالمصنقين.
And al-sanqah: are those who improve the service of camels. It is said: these are camels that al-sanqah have tended to, meaning: they have done well in taking care of them, said Ibn Abbad, and it seems to be a plural of sanq, like al-musannaqin.
والصناق ككتاب: الجمل البعيد الصوت في الهدير، نقله الصاغاني.
And al-sanaq like kitab: is the camel with a far-reaching sound in its humming, narrated by Al-Saghani.
وقال ابن عباد: أصنق عليه: إذا أصر.
And Ibn Abbad said: asnaqa 'alayhi: if he insisted.
وقال أبو زيد: أصنق في ماله إصناقا: إذا أحسن القيام عليه.
And Abu Zayd said: asnaqa fi malihi isnaqan: if he managed it excellently.
أصنقه العرق إصناقا: إذا نتن ريحه.
Asnaqahu al-'araqu isnaqan: if his smell became pungent.
ورجل مصناق، كمحراب: لزم ماله، وأحسن القيام عليه.
And a man misnaq, like mihrab: he was diligent with his wealth, and managed it excellently.
والصنق، بالتحريك: الحلقة تجعل في أطراف الأروية، جمعه أصناق، عن أبي حنيفة، وقد مر ذكره في ق ط ف.
And al-sanaq, with harakah: is the ring placed on the noses of female camels, its plural is asnaq, from Abu Hanifa, and its mention has passed in q-t-f.
وأصنق: إذا لم يأكل، ولم يشرب من هياج، لا من مرض.
