Do you not see what Al-Farra' narrated from Al-Kisa'i from some Arabs: 'Al-shanq' is up to twenty-five, and his interpretation is that he means what is between five and twenty-five.
وكان على زعم أبي سعيد يقول: الشنق إلى أربع وعشرين، لأنها إذا بلغت خمسا وعشرين ففيها بنت مخاض
And according to Abu Sa'id's claim, he used to say: 'Al-shanq' is up to twenty-four, because when it reaches twenty-five, there is a bint makhad (a young camel).
كأنها كبداء تنزو في الشنق
As if it were a large-livered animal leaping in the elongation.

أشنقت الشيء، وشنقته: إذا علقته
