Or a tent-dweller with eight long legs.
فهي تباري كل سار سهوق
So they compete with every long-striding traveler.
والسهوق: الريح الشديدة التي تنسج العجاج أي تسفى، عن الفراء
And al-suhūq: the strong wind that weaves the dust, meaning it blows it away, according to Al-Farra'.
والسهوق، كعملس: البعيد الخطو نقله ابن عباد
And al-suhūq, like 'amlas: the long-striding, as narrated by Ibn 'Abbad.
السوهق، كجوهر: الريح الشديدة، عن كراع
Al-suhwq, like jawhar: the strong wind, according to Kurā'.
وشجرة سهوق: طويلة الساق
And a suhūq tree: tall-stemmed.
والسهوق: الضخم الطويل من الرجال، كالسوهق
