The poor person is not he who has no wealth; rather, the truly poor are those most deserving of earning, meaning the greatest poverty is the poverty of the hereafter for one who has not offered anything from their wealth to be rewarded for there.
أما معاوية فرجل أخلق من المال.
As for Mu'awiyah, he is a man more deserving of wealth.
والخلق، بالضم: الملاسة، والنعومة، كالخلوقة والخلاقة بفتحهما على مقتضى إطلاقهم، والصحيح أن الخلوقة بمعنى الملاسة بالضم، مصدر خلق ككرم.
And 'al-khuluq' (with damma): smoothness, softness, like 'al-khuluqah' and 'al-khalaqah' (with their respective vowels) according to their usage. The correct view is that 'al-khuluqah' means smoothness (with damma), a verbal noun from 'khalaqa' like 'karuma'.

Al-khilqah (with harakah): a level cloud that looks promising for rain.
الخلقاء من الفراسن: التي لا شق فيها عن ابن عباد.
Al-khalqaa' (from 'farasin' - divination by facial features): that which has no fissure in it, according to Ibn 'Abbad.
إن كانوا علموا بذلك لك يعني أولياءها، فأغرمهم صداقها لزوجها.
If her guardians knew of that, then make them pay her dowry to her husband.

Al-khalqaa' is 'al-ratqaa'' (imperforate) because it is solid like a smooth rock.
هو مثل بالهضبة الخلقاء لأنها مصمتة مثلها.
It is a simile with the smooth hill because it is solid like it.
الخلقاء: الصخرة ليس فيها وصم، ولا كسر
Al-khalqaa': The rock that has no crack or break in it.
وهي بينة الخلق، محركة.
And it is clearly smooth, with harakah.
الخلقاء من البعير وغيره: جنبه، ويقال: ضربت على خلقاء جنبه أيضا أي: صفحة جنبه.
Al-khalqaa' of a camel and other animals: its side; and it is said: 'I struck the 'khalqaa'' of its side,' meaning the flank of its side.
الخلقاء من الغار الأعلى: باطنه وما املاس منه، قاله الليث.
Al-khalqaa' of the upper cave: its interior and what is smooth from it, said Al-Layth.
الخلقاء من الجبهة: مستواها وما املاس منها.
Al-khalqaa' of the forehead: its level part and what is smooth from it.
سحبوا على خلقاوات جباههم، وهو مجاز.
They dragged on the smooth parts of their foreheads, and this is metaphorical.

Al-khulayqaa' of a horse: where its forehead meets the bridge of its nose from its narrowest part, and it is like our 'arrinin' (nasal bridge).
أخلقه: كساه ثوبا خلقا كما في الصحاح، وقيل: أخلقه خلقا: أعطاه إياها.
'Akhlaqahu': He clothed him with a worn garment, as in Al-Sihah; and it was said: 'Akhlaqahu khalaqan': He gave him it.
مضغة مخلقة، كمعظمة: تامة الخلق وغير مخلقة: هو السقط، قاله الفراء
A 'mudghah mukhallaqah', like 'mu'adhdhamah': fully formed; and 'ghayr mukhallaqah': it is a miscarriage, said Al-Farra'.
الناس خلقوا على ضربين: منهم تام الخلق، ومنهم خديج: ناقص غير تام
People are created in two types: among them is the fully formed, and among them is the premature: incomplete and not fully formed.

Al-mukhallaq (like mu'adhdham): A drinking vessel when it is softened, as transmitted by Al-Jawhari.
وخلقت المرأة جسمها: إذا طلته بالخلوق
And the woman 'khallaqat' her body: if she applied 'khuluq' (perfume) to it.
رجل مختلق: حسن الخلقة، وامرأة مختلقة: ذات خلق وجسم، وهو مجاز.
A 'mukhtalaq' man: of good form, and a 'mukhtalaqah' woman: possessing character and physique, and this is metaphorical.
يقال: المختلق من كل شيء: ما اعتدل منه
It is said: 'Al-mukhtalaq' of everything: that which is moderate from it.
تخلق بغير خلقه: إذا تكلفه
To 'takhal-laqa' with something other than one's nature: if one forces it.
من تخلق للناس بما يعلم الله أنه ليس من نفسه شانه الله تعالى
Whoever 'takhal-laqa' with people in a way that Allah knows is not from himself, Allah will disgrace him.
أي: أظهر في خلقه خلف نيته
Meaning: he shows in his outward appearance the opposite of his inner intention.
تخلق بكذا: استعمله من غير أن يكون مخلوقا فى فطرته.
To 'takhal-laqa' with something: to use it without it being part of one's innate nature.
إن التخلق يأتي دونه الخلق
Indeed, affectation comes below (or without) natural disposition.
واخلولق بعد تفرق أي: اجتمع وتهيأ للمطر
And it 'ikh-law-laqat' after being dispersed, meaning: it gathered and prepared for rain.
واخلولق الرسم: استوى بالأرض
And the trace 'ikh-law-laqat': it became level with the ground.
اخلولق متن الفرس: إذا املس.

بلى وهو الخلاق العليم
Yes, and He is the All-Creator, the All-Knowing.
خلق الله الخلق: أوجده على تقدير أوجبته الحكمة.
Allah created creation: He brought it into existence according to a measure dictated by wisdom.
فليغيرن خلق الله قيل: معناه دين الله
They will surely change Allah's creation; it is said: its meaning is Allah's religion.
لأن الله فطر الخلق على الإسلام، وخلقهم من ظهر آدم عليه السلام كالذر، وأشهدهم أنه ربهم، وآمنوا، فمن كفر فقد غير خلق الله
Because Allah created creation with Islam, and He created them from the loins of Adam, peace be upon him, like ants, and made them bear witness that He is their Lord, and they believed. So whoever disbelieves has changed Allah's creation.
لا تبديل لخلق الله قال قتادة: أي لدين الله.
No change to Allah's creation, Qatadah said: meaning to Allah's religion.
رجل خليق، كأمير بين الخلق، أي: تام الخلق معتدل
A 'khaliq' man, like 'ameer' among people, meaning: of complete and moderate form.
وهو كالجمل المخلق.
And he was like a fully formed camel.
الخليقة: الأرض المحفورة.
Al-khaliqah: Excavated land.
إن هذا إلا خلق الأولين.
This is naught but the customs of the ancients.
وكل جديد صائر لخلوق.
And everything new becomes worn out.
وقد أخلق الثوب إخلاقا، واخلولق: إذا بلى
And the garment has become worn out through 'ikhlaq', and 'ikh-law-laqat': when it becomes old.
أبلى وأخلقى يروى بالقاف وبالفاء، من إخلاق الثوب وتقطيعه
'Abli wa akhliqi' is narrated with 'qaf' and 'fa', from the wearing out and tearing of a garment.
باعه بيع الخلق، ولم يفسره، وأنشد:
He sold it the sale of 'al-khalq', and did not explain it, and recited:
مجدا الحياة بسيفي بيع ذي الخلق.
The glory of life with my sword, the sale of one possessing character.
الخلق، بالفتح: كل شيء مملس.
Al-khalq (with fatha): everything smooth.
الخلائق: حمائر الماء، وهي: صخور أربع عظام ملس، تكون على رأس الركية، يقوم عليها النازع والماتح
Al-khala'iq: The water-donkeys, which are four large, smooth rocks, located at the top of the well, upon which the drawer and the water-carrier stand.
حوض بادي الخلائق، أي: النصائب.

'Inn akhlaqa bika an taf'ala kadha' (It is most fitting for you to do so), he said: they meant 'inn akhlaqa al-ashya' bika an taf'ala dhalika' (the most fitting of things for you to do so).
وما أخلقه، أي: ما أشبهه.
And 'ma akhlaqahu', meaning: how similar it is!
ويقال: أخلق به، أي: أجدر به، وأحر به، واشتقاقه من الخلاقة، وهو التمرين.
And it is said: 'Akhlaqa bihi', meaning: more worthy of it, more deserving of it, and its derivation is from 'al-khalaqah', which is practice.
نزلنا بين فتك والخلاقى
We encamped between Fatk and Al-Khalaqi.
ومختلق للملك أبيض فدغم ... أشم أبج العين كالقمر البدر
And one 'mukhtalaq' for kingship, white, with a dark muzzle... high-bridged nose, with grey eyes like the full moon.
عنى به أنه خلق خلقة تصلح للملك
He meant by it that he was created with a form suitable for kingship.
مستبشر الوجه للأصحاب مختلق
Cheerful of face to companions, well-formed.
فارتاز عيرى سندرى مختلق
And my male donkey moved, a smooth, well-formed wild ass.
واخلولقت السماء أن تمطر، أي قاربت وشابهت.
And the sky 'ikh-law-laqat' to rain, meaning it neared and resembled (raining).
أخلق الدهر الشيء: أبلاه.
Time wore out the thing: it made it old.
أخلق شبابه: ولى.
His youth 'akhlaqat': it passed.
يقال للسائل: أخلقت وجهك، وهو مجاز.
It is said to the asker: 'You have worn out your face,' and this is metaphorical.
