And Kharbaq is the name of the companion Dhu al-Yadayn, may God be pleased with him, according to one opinion, and in another, it is Umayr bin Amr bin Nadlah Al-Sulami.
ويقال جد في خرباقه وهو الضراط نقله الجوهري
And it is said: 'He exerted himself in his kharbaq,' meaning flatulence, as narrated by Al-Jawhari.
وخربقه أي الثوب شقه كخبرقه عن الجوهري
And 'kharbaqahu' meaning the garment, he tore it, like 'khabarqahu', according to Al-Jawhari.
وخربق الشيء قطعه مثل خردله
And 'kharbaqa al-shay'' means to cut the thing into pieces, like 'khardalahu'.
وخربق العمل: إذا أفسده نقله الجوهري
And 'kharbaqa al-'amal': if he spoiled it, as narrated by Al-Jawhari.
وقال الليث: خربق الغيث الأرض: إذا شققها
And Al-Layth said: 'Kharbaqa al-ghaythu al-ard': if the rain splits the earth.
قال: والمخربقة للمفعول: المرأة الربوخ
He said: And 'al-mukharrabiqah' for the passive participle: the wheezing woman.
قال والخربقة: من زجر العنز
He said: And 'al-kharbaqah': is from the calls used to drive goats.
والآخرنباق: الاخرنفاق: انقماع المريب
And 'al-akharanbaq': 'al-ikhrinafaq': is the concealment of the suspicious person.
صاحب حانوت إذا ما اخرنبقا فيه علاه سكره فخذرقا مثل الحبارى لم تمالك خذقا
A shopkeeper, when he became concealed in it, his intoxication overcame him, and he became like a bustard that could not control its movements.
والآخرنباق: اللصوق بالأرض عن أبى حاتم
And 'al-akharanbaq': clinging to the ground, according to Abu Hatim.
والمخرنبق: المطرق الساكت الكاف، وفي المثل: مخرنبق لينباع أي: ساكت لداهية يريدها
And 'al-mukharribaq': the silent, reticent one. And in the proverb: 'Mukharribaq li-yanbaa'' means: silent for a calamity he intends.
