And from it is the saying of Umayyah bin Harthan bin Al-Ashkar, may Allah be pleased with him, yearning for his son Kilab, whom Umar, may Allah be pleased with him, had sent as governor to Al-Ubullah:
سأستأدى على الفاروق ربا ... له عمد الحجيج إلى بصاق
I will seek from the Furqan a Lord... whose pilgrims aim for Busaq.
وبصاقة القمر: الحجر الأبيض الصافي يقال: هو أبيض كأنه بصاقة القمر، نقله الجوهري، وغيره.
And 'busāqat al-qamar' is the pure white stone. It is said: 'It is as white as if it were the moon's stone', as transmitted by Al-Jawhari and others.
وقال أبو عمرو: البصقة: حرة فيها ارتفاع، ج: بصاق كقصاع.
And Abu Amr said: 'Al-busqah' is an elevated lava field, its plural is 'busāq' like 'qisā'.
والبصوق كصبور: أقل الغنم لبنا وأبكؤها.
And 'al-busūq' (like 'subūr') refers to the sheep with the least milk and the most crying.
وأبصقت الشاة: أنزلت اللبن مثل أبسقت.
And 'absāqat al-shāh' means the ewe yielded milk, similar to 'absāqat'.
