Al-Ra'i said, describing a wild ass and its female donkey: 'It drove away the wild asses around her... so she became light for him, with the swiftness of lean ones.'
أو الخذوف: هي التي من سرعتها ترمي الحصى، قال النابغة الذبياني: (كأن الرحل شد به خذوف ... من الجونات هادية عنون)
Or al-khadhuf: is one that, due to its speed, throws pebbles. Al-Nabigha Al-Dhubyani said: 'As if the saddle was fastened to a swift one... from the Junaat, leading and well-bred.'
والخذفان، محركة، ضرب من سير الإبل، كما في العين، والتهذيب
