And from it: he came walking swiftly, 'al-azfa', like 'al-jamzi'.
آزفني فلان، على أفعلني، أي: أعجلني
So-and-so hastened me, on the pattern of 'af'alani', meaning: he made me hurry.
المتآزف، على متفاعل: القصير من الرجال
Al-muta'azif, on the pattern of 'muta fa'il': the short man.

إنما سمي القصير الإمام {متآزفا لتقارب خلقته، وهو مجاز
