وَالنَّمْغَةُ مِنَ الْقَوْمِ: خِيَارُهُمْ وَوَسَطُهُمْ

And the namghah from the people: their best and their middle.

وَالنَّمْغَةُ مِنَ الْجَبَلِ أَعْلَاهُ وَرَأْسُهُ

And the namghah from the mountain: its highest part and its summit.

وَقِيلَ: نَمْغَةٌ مِنْ نَاسٍ وَمَالٍ يَعْنِي: الْكَثْرَةَ

And Al-Layth said: Al-Tanmegh: a mixture of black, red, and white.

وَرَجُلٌ مُنَمَّغُ الْخُلُقِ، كَمُعَظَّمٍ، أَيْ: مُخْتَلِفُ اللَّوْنِ

And a man munamagh al-khuluq, like mu'azzam, meaning: of mixed color.

نَمْغَةُ الْجَبَلِ، بِالْفَتْحِ: لُغَةٌ فِي نَمْغَتِهِ، مُحَرَّكَةً

Namghat al-jabal, with fatha: a variant pronunciation for its namghah, with vowels.

وَالنَّمَاغَةُ: أَعْلَى الرَّأْسِ

And Al-Namaghah: the top of the head.
