نسغه بسوط، كمنعه: نخسه، وكذلك بيد، أو رمح.
He poked him with a stick, like 'man'a': he prodded him, and likewise with a hand, or a spear.
وقال ابن فارس: نسغت دابتي لتثور.
And Ibn Faris said: I urged my mount to stir.
ونسغه بكلمة: مثل نزغه أي: طعن فيه.
And he provoked him with a word: like 'nazagahu', meaning: he stabbed into him.
ونسغه بكذا: إذا رماه به.
And he threw something at him: if he threw it at him.
ونسغت الواشمة نسغا: غرزت في اليد الإبرة، وذلك أنها إذا وشمت يدها ضبرت عدة إبر فنسغت بها يدها، ثم أسفته النؤور فإذا برأ قلع قرفه عن سواد قد رصن.
And the tattoo artist tattooed: she inserted the needle into the hand, and when she tattooed her hand she gathered several needles and pierced her hand with them, then applied the dye, and when it healed, its scab was removed, revealing a black design.
ونسغ في الأرض نسوغا: إذا ذهب فيها، قاله الأموي، وقد تقدم في العين.
And he went into the land, meaning: if he went into it, said Al-Amawi, and it was previously mentioned under 'ayn'.
ونسغ اللبن بالماء: إذا مذقه، قاله ابن فارس.
And he mixed the milk with water: if he diluted it, said Ibn Faris.
ونسغت أسنانه: استرخت أصولها، وقيل: نسغت ثنيته: إذا تحركت ورجعت كنسغت تنسيغا، نقله الصاغاني وقد تقدم في العين.
His teeth became loose: their roots loosened, and it was said: his incisor tooth became loose, if it moved and returned like 'nasaghat tunseegan', transmitted by Al-Sagani, and it was previously mentioned under 'ayn'.
ونسغ من إبله: أخذ منها شيئا سلا نقله ابن فارس.
And he took from his camels: he took something from them, a portion, transmitted by Ibn Faris.
والمنسغة، كمكنسة: إضبارة من ذنب طائر، ونحوه، كريشة ينزغ كذا نص العباب، وفي اللسان ينسغ، أي: يغرز بها الخباز الخبز، وكذلك إذا كان من حديد، وقال ابن الأعرابي: المنسغة والمنزغة: البرك الذي يغرز به الخبز.
And the mansagha, like miknasa: a bundle of a bird's tail feathers, and the like, like a feather with which one pierces, as stated in Al-Abab, and in Al-Lisan 'yansaghu', meaning: the baker pierces the bread with it, and likewise if it is made of iron, and Ibn Al-A'rabi said: Al-Mansagha and Al-Manzagha: the tool with which bread is pierced.
والنسيغ، كأمير: العرق عن أبي عمرو.
And the naseegh, like ameer: the vein, from Abu Amr.
وقال ابن فارس: النسغ، بالضم: ماء يخرج من الشجرة إذا قطعت.
And Ibn Faris said: Al-Nasgh, with damma: water that comes out of a tree when it is cut.
قال الأصمعي: أنسغت الفسيلة إنساغا: إذا أخرجت قلبها وفي بعض النسخ: الفيلة، بدل الفسيلة وهو غلط.
Al-Asma'i said: I made the seedling sprout, producing its heart: if it put forth its heart, and in some copies: the elephant, instead of the seedling, which is an error.
وأنسغت الشجرة: نبتت بعد ما قطعت، وكذلك الكرم، قاله الأصمعي: كنسغت تنسيغا.
And the tree sprouted: it grew after it was cut, and likewise the vine, said Al-Asma'i: like 'nasaghat tunseegan'.

وقال ابن الأعرابي: انتسغت الإبل بالعين والغين: إذا تفرقت في مراعيها وتباعدت، وقد مر قول الأخطل في العين، وقال المرار ابن سعيد: (تنقلت الديار بها فحلت ... بحزة حيث ينتسغ البعير)
And Ibn Al-A'rabi said: The camels dispersed (with 'ayn' and 'ghayn'): if they scattered in their pastures and moved far apart, and the saying of Al-Akhtal has passed under 'ayn', and Al-Murar Ibn Sa'id said: (I moved between the dwellings with them and settled ... in Hazza where the camel disperses).
وانتُسِغ البعير: ضرب بيده إلى كركرته من الذباب كذا في العباب، وقيل: ضرب موضع لسعة الذباب بخفه، كما في اللسان.
And the camel was agitated: it struck its chest with its foreleg due to flies, as in Al-Abab, and it was said: it struck the place of the fly's sting with its hoof, as in Al-Lisan.
ومما يستدرك عليه: نسغ الخبزة نسغا: غرزها.
And among what is to be added: he pierced the bread, meaning: he inserted into it.
ونسغه تنسيغا، وأنسغه: طعنه.
And he pierced him, and he made him sprout: he stabbed him.
ورجل ناسغ من قوم نسغ: حاذق الطعن، قال رؤبة: إني على نسغ الرجال النسغ
And a man who is nasigh from a people of nasgh: skilled in thrusting, Ru'ba said: I am upon the skilled thrusting of men.
وانتَسَغ الرجل: تحرى.
And the man aimed for/sought: he was precise.
ونسغت ثنيتاه: خرجتا من الفم، عن ابن دريد، وكذلك بالعين.
His incisors emerged: they came out of the mouth, from Ibn Duraid, and likewise with 'ayn'.
ونسغه الكلام: لقنه، لغة في الشين كما في اللسان.
He prompted him with words: he taught him, a variant in 'sheen' as in Al-Lisan.
