Abu Zayd said: it is ar-radgha, meaning with harakah, and radgha has come, meaning with harakah, and radgha has come.
وفي مثل من المعاياة: قالوا: ضأن بذي تناتضة تقطع ردغة الماء، بعنق وإرخاء يسكنون دال الردغة في هذه وحدها، ولا يسكنونها في غيرها
And in a proverb of perplexity: they said: 'Sheep in a thorny place cut the mud of the water,' with 'anq and irkhā'. They put sukun on the dāl of ar-radgha in this instance alone, and do not put sukun on it elsewhere.

And from it is the hadith of Shaddād ibn Aws, may Allah be pleased with him: 'This mire prevented us from the Friday prayer.'
وفي حديث آخر: خطبنا في يوم ذي ردغ
And in another hadith: 'He addressed us on a day of mire.'

And a place of radgh, like 'katif: its abundance.
وفي اللسان: أي: وحل، وفي التكملة: ذو ردغ
And in Al-Lisān: meaning: mire, and in At-Takmilah: possessing mire.
وردغة الخبال بالفتح ويحرك: عصارة أهل النار
And radghat al-khabāl, with fatḥah and harakah: the exudate of the people of the Fire.
من قفا مسلما بما ليس فيه وقفه الله في ردغة الخبال، حتى يجيء بالمخرج منه
Whoever slanders a Muslim with something not in him, Allah will stop him in the mire of torment until he provides a way out.
من قال في مؤمن ما ليس فيه حبسه الله في ردغة الخبال
Whoever says about a believer what is not in him, Allah will imprison him in the mire of torment.
من شرب الخمر سقاه الله من ردغة الخبال
Whoever drinks alcohol, Allah will give him to drink from the mire of torment.
والرديغ: كأمير: الصريع، عن ابن الأعرابي
And ar-radīgh: like amīr: the fallen, from Ibn al-A'rābī.
وقد ردغ به، أي: صرع
And he was struck down by it, meaning: he was thrown down.
وكلاهما عندي من نعت الأحمق، وزاد غيره: الضعيف
And both, in my opinion, are descriptions of a fool, and others added: the weak.
وناقة ذات مرادغ أي: سمينة وكذلك: جمل ذو مرادغ
And a she-camel with marādigh, meaning: fat, and likewise: a male camel with marādigh.
إذا شبع البعير كانت له مرادغ في بطنه، وعلى فروع كتفيه
When the camel is full, it will have marādigh in its belly, and on the extremities of its shoulders.
وإذا لم تكن سمينة فلا مردغة هناك
And if it is not fat, then there is no mardagha there.
والمرادغ: جمع مردغة، وهي ما بين العنق إلى الترقوة
And al-marādigh: plural of mardagha, which is what is between the neck and the collarbone.
دخلت على مصعب بن الزبير فدنوت منه حتى وقعت يدي على مرادغه
I entered upon Muṣ'ab ibn al-Zubayr and approached him until my hand fell upon his marādigh.
والمردغة: الروضة عن ابن الأعرابي، وكذلك المرغدة
And al-mardagha: the meadow, from Ibn al-A'rābī, and likewise al-marghada.

For al-mardagha meaning a beautiful meadow is not anomalous to the root's meaning.
