Al-Hirma', like 'amalasa, was neglected by Al-Jawhari according to his claim, so he wrote it in red. Al-Jawhari mentioned it in the preceding section and noted that the 'm' is superfluous.
قال الليث: الهرمع: السريع البكاء والدموع.
Al-Layth said: Al-Hirma' is the one who is quick to cry and shed tears.
قال: والهرمع: السرعة والخفة في المشي، فعلهما اهرمع، أي: أسرع في مشيته.
He said: And Al-Hirma' means speed and lightness in walking. Its verb form is 'ahrama', meaning: he hastened his gait.
ونص الجوهري في هرع اهرمع الرجل: أسرع في مشيته، وكذلك إذا كان سريع البكاء والدموع، وأظن الميم زائدة.
Al-Jawhari stated in (the entry for) 'hara'' that 'ahrama al-rajulu' means: the man hastened his gait, and similarly when he is quick to cry and shed tears, and I believe the 'm' is superfluous.
وقال ابن بري: اهرمع بمنزلة احرنجم، ووزنه افعنلل، وأصله: اهرنمع، فأدغمت النون في الميم.
Ibn Barrī said: 'Ahrama' is like 'iḥranjama', and its pattern is 'if'anlal'. Its origin is 'ihranma', so the 'n' was assimilated into the 'm'.
وهذا في الأربعة نظير امحى من باب الثلاثة الأصل فيه انمحى، فأدغمت نونه في الميم، وذلك لعدم اللبس.
And this is for a four-letter root analogous to 'imḥā' from the three-letter باب, whose origin is 'inmaḥā', where its 'n' was assimilated into the 'm', and that is to avoid ambiguity.
وقال الليث: اهرمع في منطقه وحديثه: إذا انهمك، كما في العباب وفي اللسان: انهمل فيه.

Ibn Durayd said: A man 'muhram' in his speech means: he spoke quickly and excessively.
وقال غيره: اهرمع إليه: تباكى.
Others said: 'Ahrama ilayhi' means: he feigned crying.

Ibn Al-A'rābī said: A cloud formed, and its rain 'ahrama', meaning: it was abundant.
وقال ابن فارس: هذه منحوتة من هرع وهمع وكلاهما بمعنى: سال، وكذلك اهرمع: إذا أسرع.
Ibn Fāris said: This is a blend from 'hara'' and 'hama'', both meaning: to flow. Similarly, 'ahrama' means: to hasten.
