Or chewed it, or it is after the initial pull and before chewing; the pull is to extract the food from its stomach, then the chewing afterwards.
وقال بعضهم: أي) أخرجتها فملأت فاها.
And some of them said: meaning) she brought it out and filled her mouth with it.
والجرة: اللقمة التي يعلل بها البعير إلى علفه
And al-jirrah: is the mouthful with which the camel is coaxed towards its fodder.
وأنه صلى الله عليه وسلم خطبهم على راحلته، وإنها لتقصع بجرتها.
And that he, peace be upon him, preached to them on his mount, and it was indeed chewing its cud.
قصع البيت قصعا: لزمه ولم يبرحه.
The house qaṣaʿa: it adhered to it and did not leave it.
ويقال: قصع الماء عطشه: أذهبه وسكنه
And it is said: the water qaṣaʿa his thirst: it removed and calmed it.
حتى إذا ما بلت الأغمارا ريا ولما تقصع الأصرارا
Until when the floods had quenched the thirst, and the stubbornness had not yet been overcome.
قصع الجرح بالدم قصعا: شرق به عن ابن دريد ولكنه شدد قصع وزاد غيره وامتلأ.
The wound qaṣaʿa with blood: it choked on it, according to Ibn Duraid, but he intensified qaṣaʿa, and others added, and it filled up.
ونهى أن تقصع القملة بالنواة
And he forbade crushing a louse with a date pit.
قصع فلانا يقصعه قصعا: صغره وحقره، وكذلك: قمعه قمعا.
To belittle someone, qaṣaʿa him qaṣʿan: to belittle and humiliate him, and likewise: to suppress him qumʿan.
قصع الله شبابه: أكداه، وهو مجاز، أصابه بشدائد الدهر
God qaṣaʿa his youth: He made it difficult, and this is metaphorical, meaning He afflicted him with the hardships of time.
