The rooster crowed 'ṣa'an', 'ṣaqīʿan', and 'ṣiqāʿan', with damma: it made a sound.
يقال: صقعه بكي، أي: وسمه به على وجهه، أو رأسه
It is said: 'ṣaqʿahu bi-ki', meaning: he branded him with it on his face, or his head.
صقع به الأرض: صرعه وضرب به الأرض
He threw him to the ground: he felled him and struck him on the ground.
صقع فلان في كل النواحي يصقع: ذهب
So-and-so went in all directions, meaning he traveled.
ما أدري أين صقع وبقع
I don't know where he went or disappeared to.
صقع: عدل عن الطريق فنزل وحده
He deviated from the path and settled alone.
صقعته الصاقعة، لغة في صعقته الصاعقة، أي أصابته
The calamity struck him, a variant of 'ṣaʿiqathu al-ṣāʿiqah', meaning it afflicted him.
تميم تقول: صاقعة في صاعقة
Tamim says: 'ṣāqiʿah' instead of 'ṣāʿiqah'.
صه صاقع: تقوله العرب للرجل تسمعه يكذب، أي اسكت يا كذاب فقد ضللت عن الحق
Be silent, you liar! The Arabs say this to a man they hear lying, meaning: Be silent, liar, for you have strayed from the truth.

Al-ṣaqʿah: whiteness in the middle of the heads of horses, birds, and others.
كأنها حين فاض الماء واحتفلت صقعاء لاح لها بالقفرة الذيب
As if when the water overflowed and she was agitated, a white-spotted one, to which the wolf appeared in the barren land.
والأصقع: طائر كالعصفور، في ريشه ورأسه بياض، يكون بقرب الماء
And al-asqa': a bird like a sparrow, with whiteness in its feathers and head, found near water.
الصقع أيضا: انهيار الركية، نقله الجوهري عن أبي عبيد
Al-ṣaqʿ also: the collapse of a well, narrated by Al-Jawhari from Abu Ubaid.
وفرس أصقع، أي أبيض أعلى الرأس
And an 'asqa'' horse, meaning white on the top of its head.
الصقع أيضا، شبه غم يأخذ بالنفس لشدة الحر

Al-ṣiqāʿ, like 'kitāb: the burqa, and it might be called that.

Al-ṣiqāʿ: something used to tie the nose of a she-camel if they want her to nurse her young, or another's young.

Secure your tents, for the wind has become stormy, so they secure them with the rope, as I have described.
الأصقع من الفرس: ناصيته، وقيل: ناصيته البيضاء
Al-asqa' of the horse: its forelock, and it was said: its white forelock.
