Thaṭaʿa the thing, and the text of Al-ʿAbbāb specifies: the man, if he appeared and became visible.
ويقال: إذا أبدى، أي أحدث وتغوط، لأنه إذا أحدث برز من البيوت، فيكون من باب الكناية
And it is said: if he revealed, meaning he defecated, because when he defecates, he emerges from the houses, so it is from the category of euphemism.
وثطعه تثطيعا: كسره، قاله ابن عباد
And thaṭṭaʿahu tathṭīʿan: to break it, said Ibn ʿAbbād.
وأنشد لابن نجدة الفهمي: (يثطعن العراب فهن سود ... إذا جالسنه قلح قدام)
And he recited for Ibn Najdah Al-Fahmī: (They break the camels, so they are black... when you sit with them, their front teeth are decayed).
