And Ibn Durayd said: 'Al-bazīʿ' is the agile, eloquent man, like 'al-bazzāʿ'.
وَقَدْ تَكَلَّمُوا فِي أَبِي حَازِمٍ، وَأَبِي سَهْلٍ، كَذَا قَالَهُ الصَّاغَانِيُّ
And they have spoken about Abu Hazim and Abu Sahl, thus said al-Saghani.

وَعَلَيْهِ قَوْلُ شَاعِرِهِمْ: لَوْ أَنَّ بَزَّاعِي جَنَّةَ الْخُلْدِ مَا وَفَى ... رَحِيلٌ إِلَيْهَا بِالتَّرَحُّلِ عَنْكُمْ
And upon this is the saying of their poet: If Bazza'i were the paradise of eternity, it would not suffice for a journey to it, leaving you behind.
وَفِيهَا عُيُونٌ وَمِيَاهٌ جَارِيَةٌ وَأَسْوَاقٌ حَسَنَةٌ
And in it are springs, flowing waters, and beautiful markets.
وَمِنْهُ قَوْلُهُ: حَبِيبٌ جَفَانِي لَا لِذَنْبٍ أَتَيْتُهُ ... عَلَى هَجْرِهِ أَفْدِيهِ بِالْمَالِ وَالنَّفْسِ
And from his poetry: My beloved has shunned me, not for a fault I committed; for his neglect, I would ransom him with wealth and soul.
وَالْبَزِيعُ، كَأَمِيرٍ: السَّيِّدُ الشَّرِيفُ
And 'al-bazīʿ', like 'amīr', is the noble master.
