فضرب ذلك مثلا لكل من أفلت من كرب.
And that was made an example for anyone who escaped from distress.
أراد أنهم لازموك وغموك بشدة الخصومة.
He meant that they clung to you and distressed you intensely in the dispute.
والغنيظ، كأمير: البسر يقطع من النخل بعد ما يصفر أو يحمر فيترك حتى ينضج في عذوقه إذا قطعت النخلة
And al-ghunayz, like amir: is the partially ripe date picked from the palm after it has yellowed or reddened, and is left to ripen on its bunch when the palm is cut.
ورجل غنظيان، بالكسر: فاحش بذي، عن الأصمعي
And a man ghunzyan, with the kasra: is obscene and foul-mouthed, according to Al-Asma'i.
لغة في العين المهملة: كذلك غنظى به، مثل عنظى، بالعين، إذا ندد به، وأسمعه ما يكره.
A variant in the unpointed 'ayn: is likewise ghunza bihi, like 'unza, with the 'ayn, when one denounces him and makes him hear what he dislikes.

And he is aghnazuhum: the most distressed among them.
والغنظ، محركة: تغير النبات من الحر
And al-ghanaz, with haraka: is the discoloration of plants from the heat.
رجل غنظيان: يسخر بالناس، وهي بهاء، وقال غيره، أي جاف.
A man ghunzyan: mocks people, and it is feminine (bahaa'), and others said, meaning coarse.
