ويقال: لهطة من الخبر وهلطة: هو ما تسمعه ولم تسمعه ولم تستحقه ولم تكذبه، كذا في النوادر.
And it is said: 'Lahṭah of news and Halṭah: it is what you hear but have not heard, and you neither deserve it nor deny it', as stated in Al-Nawadir.
وألهطت المرأة فرجها بماء: ضربته به، قاله الفراء.
And the woman 'alhaṭat' her private part with water: she struck it with it, said Al-Farra'.
