And Abu 'Ubaid said: As-sa'it: the pleasant scent from wine and the like, or from anything.

And Ibn Birri narrated from some that: As-sa'it: its oil, and he recited for Al-'Ajjaj describing a woman's hair: 'The oil is given to drink from the abundance of sandalwood.'

And it is said: Her locks were moistened with oil and sa'it, meaning with olive oil and mustard oil.

والسعيط: حدة الريح ومبالغتها في الأنف، وذكاؤها، كالسعاط، بضم، يقال: هو طيب السعاط.

And as-sa'it: the sharpness and intensity of a smell in the nose, and its pungency, like as-sa'at, with dammah; it is said: 'It is a pleasant sharpness of smell.'
