Al-Khalil used to say: Al-Hamyī', with the 'ayn unpointed.

And he mentioned that the Hā' and the pointed Ghayn do not come together in a word.

أحسب أن الهميغ مقلوب الميم من باء، من قولهم: هبغ الرجل هبوغا، إذا سبت للنوم، فكأنه هبيغ، فقلبت الباء ميما لقربها منها.

I think that Al-Hamyigh is a transposition of the mīm from bā', from their saying: 'The man slept a sleep,' meaning he was ready for sleep, so it is as if it were Habyigh, and the bā' was transposed to mīm due to its proximity to it.
