If width is mentioned with abundance, it indicates abundance of length, because length is more than width.
And the thing became wide, like smallness became small, and 'arāḍah, like sābah, so it is wide and broad.
So 'wide' was placed in the position of 'much' because each of them is a measure.
And from His saying, the Almighty: 'And he is one with a wide supplication'.
Even though width pertains to physical bodies, and supplication is not a body.
As for His saying, the Almighty: 'And Paradise whose width is'.
Either He means that its width in the hereafter is like the width of the heavens and the earth in the first creation.
And it was said that its width means its vastness, not in terms of measurement.

And if 'irḍ were the body and the physique as he claimed, he would not have said what he said, as it would be impossible for the speaker to say: perhaps a lean one whose body is plump, because it is a contradiction.
