وذكرها ابن عباد في رباعي الخاء مع الضاد المعجمتين، بعد ذكره إياها في الثلاثي في الخاء والضاد المعجمتين.
And Ibn 'Abbād mentioned it in the quadriliteral root of khā' with the dotted ḍād, after mentioning it in the triliteral in khā' and the dotted ḍād.
قال الصاغاني: وأنا مع ههدة هذه اللفظة فالج بن خلاوة، وبري براءة الذئب من دم يوسف صلوات الله وسلامه عليه، كما في العباب.
Al-Saghani said: And I am with the strangeness of this word, Fālij bin Khilāwah, and I am innocent like the wolf's innocence from the blood of Joseph, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, as in Al-'Ubāb.
واختلفت عبارته في التكملة، فإنه بعد ذكر عبارة الأزهري التي تقدمت قال: والصواب ما ذكره الليث، أي في رباعي الخاء والضاد.
And his wording differed in Al-Takmilah, for after mentioning Al-Azhari's statement which preceded, he said: And the correct is what Al-Layth mentioned, meaning in the quadriliteral root of khā' and ḍād.
وفي إطلاق قول المصنف: ولعله بالصاد، محل نظر وتأمل.
And in the unqualified statement of the author: 'Perhaps it is with a ṣād,' there is room for consideration and contemplation.
