And al-nafīṣ, like amīr: sweet water. The verse of Imru' al-Qays is narrated: (Its place of growth is like the Sadus, and its color... like the thorns of the Sayyal, so it is sweet, fresh water) with a nūn, as stated by Ibn Bārī, and it was previously mentioned under F Y Ṣ as well.
في الحديث: موت كنفاص الغنم هكذا ورد في رواية.
In the Hadith: 'death like the disease of sheep' (mutu ka-nafāṣ al-shāh), this is how it is mentioned in one narration.
قال الأصمعي: النفاص كغراب: داء في الشاء تنفص بابوالها، أي تدفع دفعا حتى تموت، حكاه عنه أبو عبيد.
Al-Aṣmaʿī said: Al-nafāṣ, like ghurāb: a disease in sheep where they expel urine forcefully, meaning they push it out until they die, narrated by Abū ʿUbayd from him.
والنفصة، بالضم: دفعة من الدم جمعها نفص، كما في الصحاح.
And al-nafṣah, with a damma: a gush of blood, its plural is 'nafṣ', as in Al-Ṣiḥāḥ.

You see blood in gushes on its shoulders.
من المجاز:: نفص بالكلمة: أتى بها سريعا، كأنفص إنفاصا، ونص التكملة كانتفص بها.
Metaphorically: 'nafaṣa bil-kalimah': he uttered it quickly, like 'anfaṣa infāṣan', and Al-Takmilah states 'intafaṣa bihā'.
نافعصه منافصة فنفصه: قال له: بل وأبول فننظر أينا أبعد بولا، وأنشد:
He challenged him to a contest of urinating, and he defeated him: He said to him, 'Rather, let's urinate and see which of us urinates further,' and he recited:
لعمري لقد نافصتني فنفصتني ... بذي مشفتر بوله متشتت
By my life, you challenged me and I expelled urine forcefully... with this one whose urine is scattered.
وأنفص بالضحك إنفاصا: أكثر منه، كما في الصحاح، وكذلك أنزق، وزهزق، وهو قول الفراء.
And 'anfaṣa bil-ḍaḥik infāṣan': he laughed excessively, as in Al-Ṣiḥāḥ, and similarly 'anzq' and 'zahzaq', which is the view of Al-Farra'.
أنفصت الشاة ببولها: أخرجته دفعة دفعة، كما في الصحاح.
The sheep expelled its urine in bursts: it expelled it repeatedly, as in Al-Ṣiḥāḥ.
وكذلك الناقة، وهي منفصة، إذا دفعت به دفعا دفعا.

وقيل الصواب بالفاء، والمراد به النضح على الذكر.
And it is said that the correct reading is with Fāʾ, and what is meant is moistening the genitals.

Al-anfaṣa al-rajul bi-shafatih: he gestured with his lips, like one who makes signs, meaning he who gestures with his lips and eyes.

Al-anfaṣa al-rajul bi-bawlih: he threw his urine, as in Al-Lisān.
وأنفص بنطفته، إذا رمى بها، كما لابن القطاع، وعزاه في اللسان إلى اللحياني.
And 'anfaṣa bi-nuṭfatih', if he threw his semen, as stated by Ibn Al-Qaṭṭāʿ, and Al-Lisān attributes it to Al-Laḥyānī.
ونفصه، إذا غلبه في المنافصة، وقد سبق الإنشاد.
And 'nafaṣahu', if he overcame him in the contest, and the recitation has preceded.
